Elon Musk, the world's richest person and CEO of electric car company Tesla, has made a big announcement. After canceling the Twitter deal, he has now claimed to buy football club Manchester United soon. He surprised the whole world by tweeting about this from his Twitter handle on Tuesday. He wrote- 'I am buying Manchester United. You are welcome.'

It is noteworthy that Musk remains in the headlines for his cryptic tweets. Manchester United is controlled by the American Glazer family. This family has not yet reacted to this tweet by Musk. Manchester United is one of the best football clubs in the world. The club has been champion of England a record 20 times and has won the European Cup, the most prestigious club competition in the global sport, three times.

The market capitalization of this football club was $2.08 billion as of Tuesday. It is significant that Manchester United fans have performed against Glaser in recent years. The family bought the club in 2005 for £790 million ($955.51 million). Musk's tweet about buying Manchester United has garnered thousands of likes within minutes.
