Mahela Jayawardene praised the Sri Lankan team
In a tournament where the toss played an important role, Sri Lanka won their sixth Asia Cup title by defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup final . The chasing team had won eight of the 11 matches in this tournament so far and two of them came in India and Pakistan's victories over Hong Kong. But Sri Lanka, after losing the toss in the final, batted first and at one point scored a respectable 170 runs despite falling for only 58 for 5 and won by 23 runs. Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene heaped praise on the Sri Lankan team's effort in the final .
