Malnutrition is a big problem in India, 97 crore population does not get nutritious food

 


The children of today are the future of tomorrow. But in the future, they will be able to discharge their responsibilities towards the country and society only when their childhood is healthy. Malnutrition remains a serious problem in IndiaAccording to statistics, more than 33 lakh children are suffering from malnutrition due to the non-availability of adequate food in the country. Of these, more than 17 lakh children are severely malnourished SAMs.

A United Nations report states that after the Corona period, many countries of the world are facing food shortages. The report 'The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2022' is shocking. According to this report, in the year 2021, 768 million people in the world will be malnourished, of which 224 million are Indians. Due to malnutrition, the youth of the country are suffering from many diseases. At the same time, the report states that more than 97 crore population in India is unable to afford nutritious food.

UNICEF Report – According to the UNICEF report published in 2019, malnutrition is a major problem in India. According to the report, 50 percent of the children in the country are malnourished, while 700 million children in the world are suffering from this problem. Malnutrition is directly related to health. Due to malnutrition, children do not develop according to their age. This makes them physically and mentally unwell.

The theme of World Food Day – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was established in 1945. World Food Day was celebrated for the first time in 1979. Since then World Food Day is celebrated every year on 16 October. World Food Day is celebrated every year with a new theme. This year's theme is - Leave no one behind. 150 countries of the world celebrate this day together and discuss ways to eliminate hunger and malnutrition from the world. On this day people are made aware of nutritious food by various organizations.
