T20 World Cup 2022: Mission World Cup, Indian team leaves for Australia

The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma left for Australia on Thursday morning for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a picture of the entire team on social media before leaving for Australia. BCCI tweeted, "Picture perfect, let's do it. The World Cup we are coming."

Apart from BCCI, many players also shared their photos. Now the Indian players will start practicing and try to get used to the conditions in Australia. The pitches here have high bounce and speed, which becomes difficult to handle. Hardik also shared a photo with Dinesh Karthik, in which both the players are seen laughing. For Karthik, playing in this World Cup is a dream come true. He returned to the Indian team at the age of 37.

Let us tell you that India has won the T20 series against Australia and South Africa, but in both these series the Indian team's bowling has been a matter of concern, especially in the death overs. The Indian team will have to get rid of this problem as soon as possible in the World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah was on Monday ruled out of the four-week tournament due to a back injury. Bumrah was initially included in the World Cup squad, but now his absence is a big blow.

The BCCI is yet to announce Bumrah's replacement. However fellow pacers Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar are already on standby for the tournament. Before starting their World Cup campaign, India will play a few warm-up matches against Australia and New Zealand. The Indian team will begin its T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne on 23 October.
