Asia Cup 2022 :- Super Sunday will be a great match between India and Pakistan!

August is generally seen as the hottest month to visit Dubai. The temperature during the day is more than 40 degrees. In this climate of scorching heat in Dubai, the Asia Cup is starting its 15th season. When the cricket match starts on Sunday, the atmosphere in Dubai will show different colors in the midst of summer. So far, 9 T20 Internationals have been played between the two teams, out of which India has won seven matches, while Pakistan has won just two. If seen in the figures, India has a huge upper hand. The last match between the two teams was played during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, in which India suffered a crushing defeat by ten wickets. It is clear from this that India may be strong on numbers but Pakistan is also no less.

While speculations about the Indo-Pak match are rampant on social media, once the game resumes, the excitement of the India-Pakistan clash will keep fans more engaged. Both the teams are set to take on each other on Sunday. However, Jasprit Bumrah of India and Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan will not participate in the match. While Bumrah is battling a back injury, Afridi is not on the team due to a right knee injury. Afridi's absence will be a major drawback for Pakistan as he registered a score of 3-31 in his four overs and became the 'Player of the Match' in the 10-wicket win in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Now both the teams are all set for Sunday's Asia Cup Group A match.

In Bumrah's absence, Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan have been given a chance to strengthen their case for a place in the men's T20 World Cup squad. In the absence of Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah could be given a chance. On Sunday, the eyes of cricket stalwarts will also be on Virat Kohli as Kohli has not been in his form for a long time and this will be his 100th T20I match.

The former captain has not scored a century since 2019 and has played only 4 T20Is this year. On Sunday, after one and a half months, Kohli will return to cricket. With 50 days left for the men's T20 World Cup to be held in Australia, India will be keen to see how Kohli and KL Rahul fit into the ultra-attacking approach adopted by the team. They will have to decide between Rishabh Pant's blast in the playing XI and Dinesh Karthik's exploits in the final overs.

It will be interesting for Pakistan to see how their batting holds up. Recently their top three players are captain Babar Azam, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman at the top of their form. With the absence of Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez in the middle order, it will be up to Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, and the young Haider Ali to convert the finishing touches into a decent total. Although if seen in the figures, India's upper hand seems to be heavy, India will not make the mistake of taking Pakistan lightly. It is also expected that there may be two more clashes between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
