Protest against Ankita's murder, people took to the streets for justice

On August 23, in Dumka, Jharkhand, a student named Ankita, who was set on fire by Shahrukh, a youth living in the same locality, died during treatment at RIMS Ranchi late on Saturday night. As soon as the news of this spread in Dumka, angry people took to the streets from Sunday morning itself. The shops in the city have automatically closed in protest against the incident. The protesting people are demanding justice for Ankita's family. Women are also in large numbers among those protesting. In view of the prevailing tension in the city, a large number of police forces have been deployed. The people involved in the demonstration have also argued with the police many times.

Let us tell you that this incident happened at five o'clock in the morning of last Tuesday. When all the people in the house were sleeping, then the mad young man sprayed petrol on Ankita sleeping alone in the room through the window, and then set her on fire with matches. When Ankita made a noise, the people of the house woke up. Police were informed immediately. Shahrukh was arrested by the police.

The victim's father Sanjay Singh says that Shahrukh, who lives in his own locality, was harassing his daughter Ankita, who is studying in class 12 in the school, for the past several days. He was forcibly pressurizing her to love and marry. When Ankita refused and spoke of legal action against her, she threatened to kill her. Shahrukh had got his number from somewhere. On Sunday, he threatened on mobile that if Ankita did not listen to him, he would kill her.
